Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel announced this week that ALLvanza President and CEO Rosa Mendoza has been appointed to the FCC’s Communications Equity and Diversity Council. The Council’s mission is to make recommendations to the Commission on advancing equity in the provision of and access to digital communication services and products for all people of the United States.
“ALLvanza is committed to increasing diversity within the technology and telecommunications industries and to ensuring equitable access to the benefits of technological innovation,” Mendoza said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to share ALLvanza’s commitment and expertise with my colleagues on the Communications Equity and Diversity Council.”
“Chairwoman Rosenworcel is a recognized thought leader with a strong track record in addressing the need for expanded access to affordable internet coverage for underserved communities” Mendoza added. “I look forward to working with her and the commissioners to advance the Council’s mission.”
Chairwoman Rosenworcel was named to head the agency by President Joe Biden in October, an important step in having the agency fully staffed in preparation for ensuring successful deployment of funds provided in the American Rescue Plan Act and envisions in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
